Picking up on the forest school theme, we created a woodland inspired haven screened from the wider space. This ‘room within a room’ provides seating, work areas and ample book storage. The eye-catching focal point of the design is the den, clearly visible through the archway. BUDGET: £17,500 SIZE OF ROOM: 11m x 6.7m BOOKSTOCK: 2000 BRIEF: • Hub of the school • Reading for pleasure only • Woodland theme in colours to match school logo • Areas for groups, no dens DESIGNER’S NOTES: This brand new school wanted something really special for their library as it is clearly visible to visitors through the large floor to ceiling windows. Using eye-catching statement items to create impact, this library gives the resounding message that reading is at the heart of the children’s learning experience. From the feedback we received, it is obvious that everyone is delighted with this stunning facility. 7 6
