The Peterborough School Case Study

When we heard from The Peterborough School they had multiple needs and several areas required but were unsure of how to complete them for the best.

We gave them options based on their plans offering them several solutions. The results surpassed their expectations and have meant an increase in pupils, especially boys, using the LRC. Their Sixth Form students are delighted with their invigorated spaces and particularly like their glazed break-out room which is used to discuss topics and for meetings.

Seating provides different roles

Different tyes of seating allows the LRC to provides several functions and needs for the pupils.

The different types of book display encourages browing.

Multi-media teaching space

A seating area off the main part of the library allows an additional teaching and discussion space but also doubles as a quiet space in the library to enjoy reading.

Bespoke library desk

A custom-made desk allows the librarian to observe the whole space unobtrusively and allows for all the necessary storage and IT requirements.

Integrated IT space

A block of IT desks create a focussed space for online research and work. The proximity of the librarian's desk allows for the area to be subtly monitored without being invasive.

Sixth Form study space

A range of IT desks and study carrels optimise the space for study.

Sixth Form break out space

This glazed space forms part of the sudy area and allows for discussion or meetings without disturbing the other students.
